Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 (OH&S Act) and Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 (MSI)
require electrical equipment at workplaces to be safe and not expose workers to hazards.
We use the following standards to ensure that we comply with state legislation:
- AS/NZS 3012: Electrical Installations - Construction and Demolition Sites.
- AS/NZS 3760: In-service Safety Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
- AS/NZS 60335: Safety of Household & Similar Electrical Appliances Safety
- AS/NZS 2293: Emergency Escape Lighting and Exit Signs for Buildings
New Workplace Health & Safety Regulations
There will be changes introduced when the new
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Regulations & Codes of Practice is adopted in Western Australia. WHS has already been adopted by several states, however WA is still in the process of review and dissemination to WA businesses.
